Joe Juliano is a guitarist, vocalist, audio engineer, and producer based in New Jersey. He is known for his versatility and ability to bring any musical situation to life. He has earned the reputation of being incredibly reliable and always prepared for the gig. As a guitarist, he is passionate about serving the song above all else and getting great guitar tones. Driven by an intense love of music, he is eager and willing to work on all kinds of musical projects. Joe has been taught and mentored by music legends Carlos Alomar (David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney) and Al Pitrelli (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Alice Cooper, Megadeth). He currently works as a guitarist for hire playing on artists’ records and doing live performances around the NJ and NYC area (frequently working with On The Move Entertainment, Element Music, Simone Band, and Ziarra).

Playing guitar since the age of 8, Joe Juliano was raised on rock and roll. His influences include Green Day, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Brian Setzer, Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, and Ghost. Practicing for hours every day and playing in a band for years as a teenager helped Joe develop his own style of songwriting and performance. Along the way he captured many audiences’ attention with his exciting and energetic playing style. He quickly became well known for his technical prowess on guitar. During his high school years, he was often asked to fill in and play with professional cover bands. The band members were often impressed with how easily he could pick up a song on the spot and fit in with the rest of the band. It was during these years that he was able to hone his ears and his musical performance. At this point in time, Joe also began to explore playing other genres of music like jazz and rockabilly. Joining the high school’s jazz ensemble helped to broaden his musical horizons and introduced him to a new world of music outside of rock and roll. In college, he often acted as a band leader and music director and organized bands to play at school events.

Throughout his years playing in bands, he also took it upon himself to learn about audio engineering and gradually build a home recording studio. After many years of independent study in audio engineering, Joe attended Stevens Institute of Technology, majored in Music & Technology, and graduated at the top of the program. During his time at Stevens, he took advantage of many great opportunities that the school offered. His skills, dedication, and willingness to learn helped him to become a valued member of the school’s Music & Technology program and he was later elected president of the Stevens Audio Engineering Club. It was through this club that he helped inspire other students to pursue music and learn about audio engineering. Towards the end of his time at Stevens, Joe realized that as much as he loved audio engineering both live and in the studio, his true goal in life was to become a professional musician. Nowadays, between gigs and other professional opportunities, Joe produces music for artists at his studio Type 1 Recording.

Type 1 Recording has become a great place for artists to record their music and Joe utilizes his expertise as a professional musician to get incredible performances out of the artist. Sessions at this studio are often a fun and collaborative process and Joe loves working as a producer to help artists achieve their musical vision.

Joe Juliano has also independently released his own original music including the album Dear No One (2017), Lost Loves EP (2017), and the album The Time Is Now (2019). Joe’s music is known for its big guitar riffs and catchy melodies as well as its versatility in styles. In late 2019, Joe joined alternative rock band The Vespids as lead guitarist and co-writer. In March 2020, he created a unique cover of the popular song ”bad guy” by Billie Eilish by utilizing his love for rockabilly and Brian Setzer. This rockabilly cover of “bad guy” was featured on Ultimate-Guitar.com and received over 74,000 views making it one of the most viewed videos on the website. In early 2021, The Vespids released the songs “Can’t Love No Woman” and “You Don’t Wanna Know” on which Joe played guitar and bass. He is also credited as a co-writer of the songs. In 2022, Joe’s acoustic cover of Ghost’s “Mary On A Cross” accumulated hundreds of thousands of streams and has been praised as one of the finest covers of the song that there is. Since then, Joe has been busy producing songs at Type 1 Recording and doing session work for other artists in both NJ and NYC.
